Custom House detail
Closeup of the center part of the south facade of the Custom House in Dublin. This was done by Irish sculptor Edward Smyth after a design by Agostino Carlini showing Neptune watching on while Britannia and Hibernia give each other a wee bit of a hug. During the Irish Civil War it was set on fire and the interior was completely destroyed with the central dome collapsing. The building was restored in 1928.
