The obligatory Puffin photograph from Skellig Michael

What I didn’t know at the time was that these little buggers live in burrows. There I am carefully going down a set set of stone stairs. The risers are at least 12″ high and it is an incredibly steep verticle drop of at least 500 feet to bounce off rocks and land in the ocean. To see if I will trip and fall the puffin pops out of its hole, about 4 feet away, gives of shout and then pops back in its home. Gotta give ’em sense of humour those ones.
